Committees

Do you have great ideas? Can you rally the troops? Are you good at organizing events? Then think about volunteering your time to one of the Hispanic Communicators committees.  Each committee plays a vital role in making HCDFW one of the strongest NAHJ chapters in the country.  Look over the list and let us know which committee is the best one for you.

Remember, you must be a member in good standing to sit on one of these committees.  The committees will be made up of journalists, freelancers and media relations professionals. Please send an email to dfwhispanic@sbcglobal.net, if you’d like to be on one of the following committees.

Events Planning Committee:

This committee is responsible for rebuilding our organization thru planned events.  We want to make sure that our members get their money’s worth through workshops, meet and greets, guest speakers and other events.  This committee will also plan events to recruit new members.

Scholarship Committee:

The committee is responsible for getting the word out on the scholarships has to offer.  The committee will gather the applications, process them and notify the students who have won a scholarship.  The committee is responsible to stay on top of scholarship deadlines and keep the Board of Directors informed about the entire process and winners.

Membership Committee:

The membership committee is responsible for recruiting new members and gets others to renew. The committee will also welcome via phone call, email or letter new members who have joined HCDFW locally or through NAHJ.  The committee may also work with the Planning Committee to coordinate a “meet and greet” for new or prospective members.

Fundraising Committee:

Help find sponsors and raise funds to keep our organization going and offer the best workshops and events to our members.

Website Committee:
