Bert Lozano believed in helping Latino students reach their goals in life.
HCDFW started a scholarship in 2015 in honor of Bert Lozano, a former reporter at KRGV, KSAT, and WFAA -TV. He was also a Vice President at Weber Shandwick in Dallas. Lozano passed away in 2011.
Past president, Saul Garza worked with Lozano at KRGV-TV in the Rio Grande Valley in the 1990’s. He has many good memories of his friend and fellow journalist “Bert loved to have fun, loved telling stories, and always encouraged other Latino students to pursue their dreams. He would be ecstatic to know that a scholarship in his name is helping future communicators reach their dreams.”
Please help us raise funds for the Bert Lozano Scholarship. The scholarship of $5,000 will be presented to a future journalist or communicator from the DFW area and will be awarded at our annual award ceremony on Nov. 4, 2017.
All funds raised will go directly towards this scholarship.
