FULL TIME REPORTER
Join an award-winning newsroom at the Denton Record-Chronicle as a full-time reporter. This position will require attending night meetings several evenings a week as well as contributing story ideas and producing content regularly for the daily newspaper. With more than a 70-percent ratio of local content to wire content, we consider features as well as investigative stories as equally important to our readers, who want to know what is going on in their communities. You, as a candidate for this job, will also bring multi-media skills to the table with knowledge of social media, video and blogging tools. A journalism degree is required for this position or at least two years of newsroom reporting experience or both. This full-time position includes benefits.

PART-TIME COPY EDITOR
The award-winning newsroom at the Denton Record-Chronicle has an available position for a part-time copy editor. This position edits news content and handles page layout. Knowledge of AP style is a must along with knowledge of programs such as Quark, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Word Perfect. InDesign skills are a plus. The hours are anticipated to be 3 p.m. to midnight at least three days each week with a one-hour lunch break. This is an opportunity to work with the news department in updating and expanding design skills as well as preparing for a conversion to a new program this fall.
